Etienne Portais is a French entrepreneur and media innovator best known as the co-founder of Maddyness, the leading magazine dedicated to startups and innovation in France.
Alongside Louis Carle, he launched the platform in 2012 and played a pivotal role in turning Maddyness into a cornerstone of the French tech ecosystem, publishing nearly 2,000 articles and leading media partnerships that helped shape public discourse on entrepreneurship.
He also co-founded AzertyJobs and contributed to initiatives like MaddyKeynote and BackpackBook, consistently championing innovation, media, and community-building. His work helped elevate Maddyness into a trusted source for entrepreneurs, investors, and major corporations alike.
After more than a decade, Etienne stepped down from all operational and leadership roles at Maddyness in September 2024. In his farewell, he reflected on milestones such as attending CES, witnessing the birth of VivaTech, and helping launch La French Tech.
Now entering a period of transition, Etienne is exploring new opportunities aligned with his passion for entrepreneurship. He remains open to collaborating on ventures that resonate with his vision and values, and is eager to engage with people and projects shaping the future of innovation.
