Mark Strippel is a seasoned media consultant and creative leader with extensive experience in digital media, talent development, and brand strategy. Formerly the Head of BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Asian Network, he’s recognised for transforming both stations through innovative content strategies that led to record audiences and the prestigious UK Radio Station of the Year award. Mark has been instrumental in shaping British culture, commissioning original shows for BBC Sounds, producing major festival coverage, and launching the world’s first official Afrobeats Chart. He has also been behind the rise of leading UK media figures such as Maya Jama, Tiffany Calver, and Big Zuu, and co-developed BBC Three’s BAFTA-nominated The Rap Game UK.
Mark now advises top-tier clients including BBC Sounds, BBC Radio 4, Sony Music, and Roblox experience studio Dubit. His work bridges the creative and business sides of media, helping brands connect with audiences through culturally relevant and impactful storytelling. Earlier in his career, Mark worked with Island Def Jam Music Group and co-founded the artist-producer collective Panjabi Hit Squad, producing for global stars like Mariah Carey and Beenie Man. Beyond his consultancy, he continues to mentor and inspire emerging talent, serving as a speaker for youth and media initiatives across the UK.
